Highly regarded as a shutdown cornerback at LSU as the Tigers ranked third in the nation in total defense in each of his three seasons allowing 288.8 yards per game in 2007.

Compiled 142 tackles (103 solo), eight interceptions, eight tackles for loss and 36 passes defensed in his LSU career while opposing quarterbacks completed only 25.6 percent of their passes thrown his way last season.
Jackson’s 44 passes defensed (36 PBU, eight interceptions) rank second in school history and his five INTs in 2007 were a career-high while ranking 12th on LSU’s season-record list.
2007 Season
Earned All-America third-team honors by The NFL Draft Report while garnering All-SEC first-team accolades by the league’s coaches.
Led a secondary that ranked ninth in the nation in pass defense (182.71 ypg) while starting 14 games and totaling 44 tackles, five interceptions, three tackles for loss and 16 passes defensed.
Jackson’s 21 passes defensed was the third-highest season total in school history.
Posted six tackles, three passes defensed and intercepted his first pass of the season against South Carolina (9/22).
In an overtime contest against Kentucky (10/13), delivered two tackles and intercepted an Andre Woodson pass.
Closed out his career with two solo tackles, one pass defensed and an interception in a victory against Ohio State in the BCS National Championship Game (1/7/08).
2006 Season
Started all 13 games at right cornerback playing a major role in a defense that ranked third nationally in total defense (242.7 ypg) and pass defense (145.7 ypg).
Collared 46 tackles (33 solo), 16 passes defensed and two interceptions.
His 16 passes defensed is tied for sixth on the school’s season-record list.
Picked off a pass from Florida quarterback Chris Leak while tallying four solo tackles against Florida (10/7).
Totaled six stops (four solo) and added one pass defensed in a Sugar Bowl meeting with Notre Dame (1/3/07).
2005 Season
Moved into the starting lineup helping the team rank third nationally in total defense (266.9 ypg) and 11th in pass defense (175.3).
Finished the season with 47 tackles (34 solo), 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one fumble recovery, one pass defensed and assisted on a three-yard sack.
In his first career start, made three solo stops with one pass defensed against Arizona State (9/10).
Posted two tackles and intercepted his first career pass against Vanderbilt (10/8).
2004 Season
Appeared in 10 games as a reserve cornerback.
Notched five tackles (two solo) and three passes defensed.
Personal
Attended St. Paul’s Episcopal High School (Mobile, AL) where he was regarded as one of the most versatile athletes in the state as he competed at cornerback and wide receiver while returning kickoffs and punts.
Registered 40 tackles and seven interceptions in his senior season (2003)
A Sociology major, Jackson also plays the saxophone.
