Career
Posted his highest tackle total in 2007 with 53 stops (37 solo) while setting a new game-high with a two-sack performance against Jacksonville in Week 2.

Experienced an active first three seasons, seeing action in 46 games with 16 starts, as he lined up at both defensive end and defensive tackle positions.

Ranked third among NFL defensive tackles in tackles for loss seven in 2006.


2007 (Falcons)
Totaled 53 tackles (37 solo) while adding a season-high three sacks and two forced fumbles. Also recorded one fumble recovery and notched two passes defensed.

Started at defensive tackle and collared a career-high two sacks at Jacksonville (9/16) in addition to posting two tackles and one forced fumble.

Collared seven tackles at Tampa Bay (12/16) for a defensive unit that allowed a season-low 109 passing yards.

Led all defensive linemen with a career-high eight tackles and one pass defensed at Arizona (12/23) for a defensive unit that allowed only 76 rushing yards.

Posted five tackles, one sack (eight yards), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery vs. Seattle (12/30) for a defense that produced three turnovers in the 44–41 victory.


2006 (Falcons)
Saw action in 16 games with one start and tallied 38 tackles to go along with one sack, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed.

Started at defensive tackle for an injured Rod Coleman (toe) vs. Pittsburgh (10/22) and posted five tackles, one sack, one fumble recovery and his first-career forced fumble.

Tallied two tackles and his first career interception (six yards) at Detroit (11/5).


2005 (Falcons)
Played in all 16 games, including six starts (Weeks 9-14) at right defensive end and recorded 36 tackles, one fumble recovery, one half-sack and one pass defensed.

Posted one tackle and one fumble recovery in his first career game vs. Philadelphia (9/12).

Recorded two tackles and a half of a sack in his second career start vs. Green Bay (11/13).


College
Four-year letterman at Iowa, starting 31 of 42 games and recording 131 tackles, 19 sacks, five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception.

Earned All-America and first-team All-Big 10 honors as the team’s Most Valuable Player on defense after leading the Conference with 11 sacks as a senior. Also named the recipient of the Big 10 Conference Sportsmanship Award.


Personal
Lettered in football, baseball and basketball at Lincoln (Port Arthur, TX) High School.

First-team All-Conference linebacker and team captain as a senior, while also competing at defensive end, fullback and punter. Also a member of the number one ranked basketball team in the state of Texas.

Jonathan’s brother, Jordan, is a defensive back for the Seattle Seahawks. He is the youngest of five children.
